Broad-billed Hummingbird, Cynanthus latirostris
Madiera Canyon, AZ
The Broad-billed Hummingbird is said to be less active and quieter than most hummingbirds. A hummingbird has a long tongue that reaches far beyond its bill. It eats mainly nectar from a variety of flowers or feeders, but will also consume invertebrates that are small enough to swallow.
