Cheetah, Acinonyx jubatus

Maasai Mara, Kenya

The Cheetah is the fastest land mammal, reaching speeds of 60-70 mph while chasing prey over short distances. Unlike other cats, the cheetah hunts entirely during the day. Its distinguishing marks include spots and a small head with ‘tear’ stains on the face.
