Wimberley Lens plates fit any Arca-Swiss style quick release clamp. They have a double dovetail cross-section (dovetail milled in the upper and lower halves) so that you have the option of mounting Wimberley's new Shape-Shifter Flash bracket on the top or bottom of the plate (The Shape Shifter attaches to the plate with a special narrow, low profile quick release clamp). Wimberley plates are also machined to fit both Really Right Stuff and Kirk flash brackets.

The plates come with optional safety stops for the front and back of the plate. These stops keep your lens from accidentally slipping out of the clamp jaws. If you opt to use both stops you must open the jaws of the quick release wide enough to load your lens from the top (instead of sliding it in). Top loading is a little less convenient, but if you use both stops you will be completely certain that your lens will not slide out of the clamp. The stops work best with the new Wimberley quick release clamps because they have channels that go almost to the center. These channels allow full range of forward and back motion but will not let the plate slip out. The stops will also work with other quick release clamps if your plate is long enough. If you wish to use one or neither of these stops, simply remove them with the hex key provided.

Wimberley offers five plate sizes that accommodate a wide variety of collared lenses. The lens/plate matches listed below allow enough length to attach a flash bracket to the top surface of the plate and allow for enough extension to easily balance your lens in almost every configuration. If you are interested in getting the shortest plate that will work with your lens you can order a smaller plate than is suggested. The lengths of the plates are listed below.
