Online security breaches???

All of a sudden, I am getting multiple pop-ups on every site I visit about "Security Breaches". First, Yahoo's security encryption "failed", then Global Security, then others. They all want me to go check my credit ratings on the 3 Credit Bureaus.

This is just another scam, right?? Trying to get me to join a credit-monitoring site for a fee? Ho do I ever know when something is legitimate??

Getting so SICK of all this..

Thanks -

Samdy

Sandy,

This reeks of malware on your computer. Do a full system scan with your AV program, and, if you have it, Malwarebytes (free download).

Secondly: Use Task Manager to close those windows, and, whatever you do, don't click on any buttons/links in those popups.

IIRC, you are still using XP. If so, you need to upgrade to Win-7 or Win 8; both are much more secure than XP.

Or, use a Mac.

Malwarebytes fixed the same problem for me.

Malwarebytes did the trick - thanks, Preston and Lance.
Rich, wish I had an extra $3000 for a new computer, but I don't. Besides, Macs are far from immune to problems. My partner had a major and very expensive MAC crash last month.
