A Burst Of Color

This was taken at one of the many lavender fields in Sequim Washington. I have been asked to get some different perspectives of these so I tried everything. I waited around for awhile and when I saw a weather system move in I got down to the area as soon as I could. This one exposure with a two stop grad to hold the details in the clouds. I used a Singh-Ray Color Combo to make the blues pop. I have not added anything in PS except for some mid-tone contrast. I have also done a lot of dodging and burning to bring out the color in the foreground.

Thanks for any comments or critiques

Excellent way of having the foreground, mid, and background all tie together. I also like the way the color of the flowers ties in with the red roof. Can't find any fault with this one at all!

Well done, Kevin. Beautiful comp and exposure, and the colors are nicely coordinated. I even like how the orange flowers match the roof.

Wonderful colors, sharpness and comp. What a wonderful large print this would make.

Wow is all I can say. And at f/16 while focusing that close. You must've been all the way out at 17 mm to catch all this.

Congratulations, Kevin! Imaginative comp with great color and, yes, unique for the Sequim Lavender fields. Way to go!

This is definitely a grabber! I like the low perspective and the color of the floweres tieing into the cabin roof. Excellent capture with minimal PP.

Wow! This is one of those bright bold scenes that would really liven up a room in the house. Definitely an attention getter. That roof couldn't have been a better match with the color of the flowers. You managed the exposure perfectly and the detail is sharp and crisp from front to back. Very well composed and shot! :toast:
