Swirl of Autumn Leaves

This really DID start out as a photograph-- a surprisingly nondescript macro abstract of leaves in shallow focus emphasizing color and a very few sharp leaf edges. After applying Flaming Pear's Flexify, I added a couple of PSCS3 filters and worked with the blending modes. Several hours later… Perhaps I should try painting with paint and brushes...

Don't worry about paint and brushes your doing fine with your digital art set. I realy like this. I have some images I shot last week for the same purpose I hope mine come ut this well. I will have to buy flexify my trial ran out. Very nice work here Catherine you don't need paint. :toast: :toast: J. Lee

No doubt in my mind that you would do wonderfully with some oils and canvas. In the meantime, this is creativity at its best. Playful, colorful and just plain beautiful.

Catherine,

I like this very much. The color palette and tiling makes me think of Japanese vases I've seen and admired. This is exceptionally well done IMO.

Congratulations on the EP, Catherine. This would make a great candidate for an oil painting. So-o-o translucent.

Oooh, really nice, Catherine! I've only tried some CS3 filters, and of course the ever popular swirl brush. Flexify, eh? Whatever you used and did, the result is extremely pleasing.

Catherine,
I don't know how to paint the glow we see here, but whether you paint it on a canvas or your monitor, it is beautiful and imaginative. Congrats on the EP.

Works for me and really worth 2 hours of fiddling. I like it even better as a square with the right 25% of the image cropped away. Darwin
