Editor's Pick Award, 2008 First Honorable Mention -- Man & Nature Gallery

I shot this Adirondack scene three years ago, and never got it to stitch exactly right until I re-did it recently in the photomerge program in Photoshop CS3. It’s a stitch of 6 vertical frames, and when I shot it, my tripod apparently went off-level as I was nearly swept off the flat rocks where I was precariously wading (which is also why I did not move that little stick on the right side).

P.S. I added the larger version because it's hard to see the detail in long panoramas at 720 pixels wide.

Sigma 18-200 @ 21 mm.
1/5 sec. @ f/18
6 Vertical frames, stitched
Tripod; homemade pano bracket; mirror up; release cable

This very impressive work Wayne. The pano format suits very well. The processing is terrific.

Excellent shot, Wayne. The colours are splendid and the motion in the water is just right. I also like how you included the open area on the left.

Very nice Wayne! Very natural colour, great detail, and a very pretty scene. The pano works very well here. I think a tiny bit more space between the bridge and top of frame would have been nice, but I would be very happy to have this shot in my collection. Great work on the processing!

Very nice job stitching and composing the colors in a balanced fashion. The shutter speed is dead on and the light perfect for the conditions. Did you use photomatix for some of it ?

An excellent composition! Glad you posted the larger version.
Shutter speed is perfect, and the pano. format complements the scene very well.

That large piece of wood doesn't bother me at all. In fact, the direction it points seems to complement the flowline of the rushing water.

Well done, sir!

Awesome photo. Beautifully composed. The angle of the bridge and water flowing through the scene are very attractive. The color is excellent. Nice choice of exposure for the water produced great detail while retaining some smoothness. To make it perfect, it would be nice to have a little more room on top if possible and perhaps clone out the twiggy branches in the water, particularly the one in the lower center.
