Me out hiking last week on my Vacation

Spent the last 10 days hiking, camping, and doing some photography of the fine colors Illinois had to show of this year. Of course some hotel time as well, and a hot tub!!!!

This is the most recent image of myself to date, and I like the location :)

Starevd Rock State park.

The park was exploding with color this year, and I have many pictures of that area, and farther west on the Illinois/Iowa border. It was a lte peak this year, but the colors were awesome.

Will be posting soon :)

Hey Ryan, pleased to meet you, nice shot of you and looks like a great location! What are those interesting etchings (arrow) on the boulder?

Hi bill,

nice to meet you as well.

Thanks so much Paul, and I hope you are well. It is nice to meet ya too.

Stan,

Good to meet you, and those etchings are from people writing on the sandstone. All of the park's natural rock formation comes from sandstone, and too many people write in it.

This is a greta spot in the park though. It has 15 miles of marked hiking trails, and 5 miles unmarked that have been closed.

This is nothing compared to some big westren parks and forests, but it is something special in Illinois :)

y'all be well

Hey there Ryan. I have most likely sat on that very rock since I grew up in Joliet and spent many a day traipsing around Starved Rock, especially in my high school days. Don't worry though--I didn't feel the need to carve my name in the sandstone! It is indeed a special place for Illinois! Sounds like you had a fun 10 days.

Hi Ryan...Last time I went to Starved Rock, the color was awful. Glad to see you were successful. It's nice to meet you. This year we had a fantastic fall in central Illinois. I was running around for 2 weeks doing shots. Great fun and great weather.
