On this mornings walk, this one was perched near the road so I returned with the camera stuff and got this one full frame.

Perfect light. I love those eyes. Just plain beautiful. Very nice of the owl to wait for your return.

Beautiful bird and a great shot. Nice work with the light and the background. I'd love to see one of these someday, let alone get a nice shot. :toast:

A gorgeous backdrop for this Owl. I've only ever seen them perched high with either snow or blue sky behind them. Bravo :toast:

Perfect, no more needs to be said! How did you get him to stay so long and not be interrupted when you were draping the perfect BG behind him?

Beautiful shot. Did you clone something out in the background and did you use any noise reduction software? I love the perch.

Congratulations on the W.P., very well done on an interesting owl species! (Nice of him to stay put while you ran for your gear, so partial praise to the owl  )

Thankyou for the W.P! What a surprise! And really it was a surprise to get this shot as when I returned with my photo gear, the owl was not there so I went around the block in frustration and decided to return again to see if I could find him with binocs, only to find him on almost the same branch as when I first saw him. It was on a cottonwood tree with a lot of branches and I was not happy with the BG at all only to see him fly away as I tried to manoever around for a better BG. It flew behind this persons house and landed on a 8ft spruce tree. I knew if I could get some shots there that something might be good. Only trouble was that I was shaking so hard from excitement that I had to turn on my VR even though I was on a tripod. Out of 25 or shots, I managed to get close enough for a full frame shot and only 3 with him looking at me. What a day!!! Thanks again!!!!!
