I took this near Stanley, Idaho in the Sawtooth National Recreation Area. I set my camera up on a tripod well ahead of sunrise, but sunrise came and went without seeing the sun. I was just getting ready to put my equipment away when the sun came through the clouds and turned the cloudy sky this gold color. I shot away until the sun disappeared again.
This is my first post, as I just purchased a membership last week. I am interested in thoughts. comments, and ways to improve.

The light and colors are really nice. I think the fence is an important element because otherwise everything would look very compressed, and probably a little boring. Here you added a nice sense of depth.
Congratulations!....and welcome to NPN!

I really like the golden hues in this image; it conveys 'western' well. I find the image overall a bit dark in the middle though.

Welcome to NPN
The fence dosnt help this image IMO. The foreground behind it is much more interesting, and wouldnt distract from the drama on the mountain.
Welcome @ well done on the EP
I have read the comments and thank you all for the advice. The sharpening issue was troubling me and I was very glad for the link on how to sharpen for the web, Matt. I had heard of double and triple sharpening, but had never known how to do it. This article was very, very helpful!!
I was also glad for the commentary on the need/importance of the fence in the foreground. I struggled with that when setting up for the shot and, in fact, tried the shot both ways. I chose this one because I felt it was a little more balanced with the fence in there, but mostly because the light was slghtly better when I took this one.
