EPA 2009 - First Place Winner - Flora Gallery

I'm looking forward to the goldfinches showing up here soon and when I saw these yellow irises at the florist I immediately asked for them. I wandered in to a co-workers cube at work last week and she had one of my goldfinch shots up as her screen saver. It made my day.

Hi Pat,

This is a great shot, beautiful composition and verry colorful.
Maybe would it be nicer when the strain of the flowers also had something light absorbed.
Now it is very hard.Anyway a beautiful capture.

Excellent composition and wonderful sharpness and color. We have purple, blue irises at the store, but never have seen these. Well done!

Without question one of your best, Pat. An image which, right to the translucent tips of the white petals, gives you the most vivid sense of the flowers in all their textures and colours. Outstanding !
