Will you help me?

While walking on the beach, I saw this bird that had been snagged by a fish hook. It just looked up as if saying "will you help me?" !

Unfortunately, there often is a conflict between fishermen and the birds. So many birds get tangled up in fishing line or hooked by a lure. Some survive, others not. Very sad to see.

I agree with Tamara. A horrible scene but well captured. Doesn't look like this bird has a very promising future.

Nice capture even though a sad one. Lets hope he gets caught up in a banding area and find the help he/she needs.

Good image - and a sad commentary on the interaction of man and nature - we do so much harm we don't intend and sometimes don't even know about. Photography can help, I think, because the power of an image like this is so much greater than words.
