I took this image two days ago while camping in SW Wyoming but didn't see the insect until I processed it last night. For me the serendipity here is the combination of the insect on the flycatcher's tail and the apparent look of surprise, curiosity and/or frustration in the bird's head posture and expression - almost like "how is this flycatcher supposed to catch this fly while it's on my tail?"

40D, 1/1000, f/8, ISO 400, 500 f/4, 1.4 tc, tripod from truck bed to gain height, cropped to 51% of original image, cloned out an OOF branch lower right

Comments/critique appreciated

That look is priceless! Great photo overall. I wish there was just a tiny bit more space for the tail corner, but thats a minor nit. Excellent entry, Ron!
On second thought, i think this would work fine with the rhs cropped so there is equal space on the rhs. The blurry section at rhs does nothing for the photo other than unbalances it; this is an example of where centered would work better.
