A lone sandcastle is about to go out with the late afternoon tide. Shot on the 4th of July, in Cannon Beach, Oregon. Canon 5D MKII, with a 24-105 F/4 Is lens, with a circular polarizer.

Beach light an all, you have this even if it goes with the tide!

Tom,
The contrast works nice between the lighter foreground and the darker haystack for sure. I am sure the commerce of Cannon Beach would love to have this.

What a unique comp. I like how the sand castle imitates the shape of the one behind. Nice job.

This is a pretty awesome sand castle. I like how it in a way mimics the large rock outcroppings in the distance. I think this shot would have been better if you had moved to the left a bit more before taking it which would have taken (i presume) the majority of people out of this picture and focused more on the water and outcroppings in the BG.

I'm enjoying this one a lot. Nice side lighting on the foreground castle and the composition works very well.

Fun shot!! Perhaps a new iconic image of Canon Beach... Sure fits M&N, but besides that, it's a very engaging image. Think maybe OR Tourism would be pleased with it? Congrats for the EP.
