Nice butterfly, I've never seen one like this.

This is a Malachite which in the United States is found is south Florida and Texas. Nice image with beautiful details and I love the colors.

A beautiful comp. I like the butterfly being framed by the leaf and the stalk which adds to the comp. The butterfly being sharply in focus with everything else being soft makes it a winner.

Beautiful detail, this photograph is very well framed. The butterfly simply jumps off the screen.

Can't help with the ID, Graham, but I can hardly take my eyes off this beauty. Great detail in the wings, interesting composition, and a moody-dreamy background.

Hey Graham, very cool B-fly, good sharp details and nice BG, a suggestion would be to clone out the stem on the left side.

Graham, I think this is great.
The stem on the left does not bother me at all - in fact I think it frames the subject quite well with the slanting line of the bottom twig.
Suberb!

Excellent shot. I haven't seen this coloration of butterfly before. I like the selective focus on the butterfly and stems contrasting against the oof bg.

Graham: Congrats on the EP and for this fine capture. In my experience (and I shoot in BF houses a lot) its tough to get a shot this good in a butterfly house. Very well done.>=))>

One summer we had Malachites around our house, plenty of them. Sometimes they were active at night. I've seen them a couple of times elsewhere, but since that summer, never around our house.

Very nice photo.
