Located in a nice rural area on my way to work this morning right before Sunrise.
Sometimes it pays to get off the main interstate/highway and take the back roads!

I like the composition and the tint you gave to the scene has an otherwordly feel to it.Can you bring out the foreground details? The vertical object at the far left is sort of distracting, you might see what it looks like cropped out.

Matt.. I like this a lot...the sepia works well here with the mist on the horizon and the moody early morning light. I think I would crop a bit from the left. That strong, dark vertical element (I can't tell what it is) doesn't add anything and I think the pciture works better without it. I would crop it and the branches of the tree behind it out...this also off-centers the focal oak and makes a dynamic comp...IMO... still it is a very powerful image.

I like the sepia treatment, vignetting, and mood captured. Agree w/left crop, and (venturing into no-man's-land) I would also consider cloning out the transmission lines. For me, it is OK as I interpret the target of this photo is to create an other-worldy mood. One that suspends reality. A place we go towards in our minds eye. This is cool. Ken S

Really love the feel of this Matt!!! I would only take out that one growth on the LHS, MAYBE a small crop of the dark bottom across for a more pano look. Real beauty as is though!!!

Wonderful shot, Matt. I like the gold sepia tones with the dark vignetting, it gives the image a nostalgic haunted feel. The old tree surounded by the fog is really quite spooky! Some of the branches and grass, as well as the power pole in the distance, are in the shape of a cross, which is adding subliminally to the haunting mood growing in my mind.

Very cool shot! Love the big ol' tree and the mist. Your toning is very nicely done. The left side does need to be cropped to remove those distracting elements. Personally, I would spend some time cloning out the power lines/poles. :toast:

A moody work which I like a lot Matt. The surrounding darkness frames your subject well, and the power lines add to the rural spookiness of the scene. The element on the left is a non-traditional element in the frame, but it adds mystery and tension to the comp. This looks like a scene from a Flannery O'Conner novel.

Love this one Matt, particularly the mood. It works for me exactly as posted. Wouldn't change a thing.

Love the mood and the processing here. I'm not so keen on that vertical element so close to the edge either and would favour cloning or cropping.

certainly does... nice comp, and the processing has given this real life. Remove the left side object though :)
