Sandy, I think you've got a powerful concept here, with power plant competing with our inherent inclination to enjoy a natural sunset. On my monitor, however, the plant's pollution is in silhouette and I can't see the plant at all because the shadows appear blocked. So I needed your title and short explanation to understand what I was seeing. Could just be a monitor issue for me. (I'm on a Mac Powerbook laptop with LCD screen).

Sandy,
The image does make a powerful statement about the conflicts between nature and our need for electricity, the nuclear stack does mar the beautiful sunset imo too.

I can hardly see the 'nuclear generator' here.
I would rather see the cooling tower from a relatively carbon neutral 'nuclear generator' in a sunset image than a smokestack from a coal fired power plant like in my own backyard.

Beautiful capture, Sandy. I don't see the reactor structure as marring the beauty -- especially for a Man & Nature shot. You may not have intended this but you have captured two nuclear reactors, one using fusion and the other using fission. Congrats on the EP.

I'm torn on the interpretation here. If you'd moved a bit, the plant would no longer even be an issue. Better nuclear than fossil burning, no? We'd all love to see wind and solar be the predominant forms of energy generation - and that's coming - but still - better steam than smog.
A very cool shot, anyway
