401 Little Bit of Heaven

I was near the tail end of a fast moving thunderstorm, taking photos of the sun setting over the ocean when I happened to look over my head. The turbulence of the clouds at the edge of the storm made for some interesting swirls and textures while the bit of blue sky and the orange glow (setting sun reflected off the ocean)made for beautiful accents. I like it better than the sunsets I was shooting.

Sony DSC-R1, ISO-160, f5.6, 1/60

Empressive! Clouds evoke much when the vast sky is the sketch-pad. Unbelievable blend of colors and shapes. Thanks for sharing.

I think this is my favourite of the WC posts so far. The abstract quality of the shot is amazing with the differing colours and textures.

In a way, this looks a lot like clouds reflected in the surface of water. I think that is because of the two distinct layer with the background layer being so smooth and fluid-looking.

Thanks, Rob! Now I understand Stan's comment about the difficult choice. There were a number of more striking photos in the challenge but it appears that sticking strictly to the theme saved the day for me. I'm sure glad I don't have to make those weekly picks!
