Hidden Beauty

My schedule so far this fall has kept me from taking photos that fit this week's theme, but I wanted to join the fun so here is a re-post from last year. Mt. Adams is hiding behind, and the reason for, the lenticular clouds (thus the title).

I finally do have an opportunity to see what the local color is doing tomorrow and Sunday, so I'll be heading out early. Rain is forecast; hopefully it helps rather than hinders the photography

John, this is a very impressive image. All the elements--comp, detail, colors--work extremely well together. When I saw the thumbnail, I was hoping for a mountain, and its "presence" here is implicit but dramatic.

Lenticular clouds always bring majestic photos. All the horizontals are eye-catching. The fog balances the upper and middle segments. The intense color in the middle draws attention first then the eyes compare the fog/cloud combo. Good photo, great eye, ..... and, "you were there!"

This is beautiful, John. I can't imagine that having the mtn in the image would be better...perhaps different but this is pretty sweet. Great colors, detail, layers...nice capture. Good luck this weekend.

Gorgeous capture John. Great depth and powerful image. A beauty. I likie the little window that leads to the background trees which leads to the awesome cloud formation. The foreground elements are awesome too. God and Mother Nature painted a picture for you to capture.

What a great shot John, I know the place! Wonderful color and drama from this image, and I love the lenticular. Head up to Lost Lake near Mt. Hood - the vine maple is spectacular right now.
