Stalking Tricolor
by Bill Leggett
From a few weeks ago in Bayou Sauvage. Several of these birds were assuming this low slung fishing posture which proved to be pretty successful strategy.

6 commentsI love how you are able to consistently find these juvie Tricolored Herons, I hope if I visit LA in the future you will be able to show me some of them! I have seen and photographed them in FL, but your shots are making me envious (in a good way).
I like the low angle, the water & reflection, the rich tones of the heron's plumage and how the neck curves into the water.
Very well done!
