Down On the Corner

OK, I was going to shoot this BEFORE Jerry G posted his, but... :)

This shot is a bit wider than Jerry's though his glass was much sharper.

I was standing there, next to, by my count, 253 large format photogs, when I suddenly noticed that I was with Danny Burk's LF workshop. When the guy next to me dropped his light meter down the bank side here, I volunteered to go down and grab it, promising no lawsuits to Danny. :)

I was glad that I secured my tripod holes BEFORE they all showed up, and I'm sure some of them hated me for it, but I was out of there after an hour or so, shooting first 8x10, then 4x5, then digital 35.

Canon 5DII, 17-40mm, f-22, 2 sec, iso 100 (we'll see how the LF stuff works out)

Beautiful shot Michael! Way to go. I prefer no glare on the water, but that's minor. This is spectacular through and through. So how many photographers were really out there?

Gorgeous scene. Sharing is nice too. Looks like there was plenty of light to go around.

Don't get me wrong, I would have loved to share the spot, but the times where the leaves were not moving was so rare that I was lucky to get about 10 shots.

Michael, there were probably about 6 or 8 guys in Danny's group, plus another group of about 8 to 10. Then, just the regular tourists. Quite a traffic jam, most people I've ever seen there. Thank you, Ken Burns! :)

Sweet capture Michael. I peeked down at the comments and I feel your pain - i.e. trying to wait out the breezes or wind. Seems this year has been more prone to breezy conditions than I remember in the past. Or maybe I am old enough now where everything is measured by "when I was..." :toast:

Fabulous shot, Micheal. I like this one better, its a wider view and the color has progressed some. I love the color in the background.

Definetly the right spot. I really like the tree hanging out over the water. Most be pretty accessible. How did you keep all those other guys out of the photo? Congrats.

Nice subject and comp IMO, but could probably do with less contrast and more shadow/midtone detail.

Beautiful image Michael. The fall color and water flow is always a winner combo.
