WC 405 The Priest

This is a man-made sign, a cairn around 15 feet high, and one of several that point the way to the summit of Mt. Snaeffels, the second highest mountain on Iceland. Icelanders love to build cairns, and to build one is considered good luck on your travels.

Canon 1DS II, 17-40L, f16, 1/60sec, ISO 400. Converted to B&W with Sepia tone.

Taken in the rain and very foggy conditions, for two days this was as far as one could see, most of the time there was about 100 feet of visibility.

Scott, I really like the mood this photo evokes. It looks quite desolate to me and a good thing the cairn was there to guide your way. I had no idea cairns were built 15 feet high.

Cool shot, Scott--has a real gothic stonehengy feel to it. I like the misty bg too. Weird cairn!
