The "Last" Kinglet

I have been chasing (and posting) mostly kinglet's for the past month and I promise this one will be my last for awhile. A month ago I had trouble finding one and this past week I was in Bushtit territory and who shows up but a pair of Golden-crowned Kinglets, they must have recognized the car! Personally I like this image over my other postings for birds pose, detail and the colors, hope you find it pleasing as well. Thanks for viewing, please click on the larger version.

Craig, I love this one the best out of your kinglets. I really like the painterly BG. The perch and bird are great with nice detail. I think this would be even stronger without the OOF stuff right behind the bird because the BG is so wonderful, but it is great as posted.

Craig,

The filtered lighting and the perch are really nice additions to this shot - the detail you captured is great and good job keeping 600 + 1.4 @ 1/125 so sharp!

This is a beauty Craig. The larger version is excellent in detail, love the little brown eye! I really like the vine-like perch. Super job on a tough to capture species.

Beautiful, Craig. I like the dappled shadows and the pose. That perch is incredible-fireweed? :toast: :toast:

Pin sharp, and I love the yellow crest. Very nice background too. I would prefer it without the OOF stem behind the neck/breast, but it isn't too dominant.

Nice one, Craig. BG color is great. The stem I'm not too fond of, but it's not critical since it is what it is. The larger version is really nice.

It's lovely, Craig. Just getting these hyperactive little buggers to hold still for a shutter click out in the open is a challenge. Fine work.

Oh, how I would love to have this shot Craig. Kinglets are tough. Very nice job. Classic Kinglet pose and very nice detail.

nice work Craig--it's hard to find these active kinglets through a long lens--it seems like once you lift it to the spot, they're gone! you got a nice pose, a good perch, and great sharpness for that slow shutter speed. I'm curious why you stopped down to f/13 for such a fast little bird? :toast:
