Photo taken in March as the ice starts to loose its grip on Lake Vänern. Not many week left before we are there again....Winter means good photo-light so I will enjoy it.

Beautiful beams and nicely balanced composition. I particularly like the golden reflection in the midground.

Nice as this is, I feel it might be even more evocative with only the distant island and beams. Gorgeous lighting here.

Answer to Marc Adamus. Actually have a shot only including the island and the beams. Many thanks for a good comment and suggestion.

I like the other shot, but it does loose the reflections. I was thinking more like a vertical of just the right half here.

Outstanding work, Christer. The golden rays from the sky and in the water is marvelous.

Back again and on the learning curve Marc. You have a great point in Your last comment as I watch my crop from the first image posted. Been reading the about composition in the "Ultimate Guide" for a week know and starts to understand what its all about. Many thanks Marc.

I like it Christer. Particularly that little island out there. Works nice coupled with the land in the fg. I agree with Bill - the reflection is really nice!

What a lovely shot with delicious light. I prefer the original shot with more space.
As soon as I saw the pic, I was reminded of Bergmann's film, "Summer With Monika", and then I saw it was taken in Sweden, so I guess it was filmed in the same area as your image. Very evocative picture.

The second repost is quite good, but I prefer the original post. It gives me a sense of scale of the island and somehow makes it more mysterious.

Glorious light Christer and I love the composition. The rock jutting out on the left balances the island nicely. The varying quality of reflected light on the ice and FG water is also a real winner. Gorgeous work.

I really like this Christer. The light and the strong contrast are working great here. I like the foreground dark shape and the way it's echoed in the distance in this scene.
