Was in Bend, OR this past weekend and decided to take the trip over to Painted Hills. These were the conditions right as I arrived. Thoughts/critique appreciated.

Nice capture Will.
I like the flow in the composition though I might be inclined to trim a bit off the RH side.
This has a very dark feel to it .

Hi Will,
I like many of the elements of this composition. One comment... For me, the beautiful hills get a little lost beacuse of the muted tone of the first hill and the dark tone of the second hill. The light clouds and the light grasses are drawing my attention away from the hills themselves. Otherwise, it looks like you lucked out with the light, as the clouds are spectacular.

I like the drama in this scene for sure, and the colors the reflected light imparts to the scene. I'm wondering if the comp could be tightened up a little? Cropping some from the right and a little off the bottom seems to add emphasis to the center mound and the clouds.

I think this is excellent, though I do think the tones could use some tweaking - more contrast by bringing up the midtones and highlights a bit. It might change the mood you're after though.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Here is one tweaked a bit... a saturation and contrast adjustment on the middle and background hills and a small crop. For my personal tastes, I think I prefer the original but wondering what you all think.

Wow will
the scene is wonderful
I wish I could visit this place in the future
every thing is nice. However, for my taste, I feel the exposure needs to be increased a little bit (some parts)
Great work

Great capture Will. I agree the shot does look a bit underexposed - especially the mids in the 2nd hill. As for the versions - I think a combo of the two works best - the sky and the foreground of the 2nd - while retaining the natural look of the original image posted for the main subject matter. I hope this helps. Michael

I like this as is Will. I am especially attracted to the grasses in the FG as they copntrast nicely with the rather foreboding feel of the rest of the image.

Holy sky. Just a tad brighter in the fg maybe but great comp. Love the sections and textures. Well done
