I am not very experianced with some parts of spotting trouble in a picture. Something is not quite right with this picture. I hope that you all will give me some help here.

Thanks for looking at my picture and thanks for any comment.

Hi Jack The composition works well enough, and the buck seems to be sharp where needed, your challenge seems to be in the processing. The Buck is blue, and probably shouldn't be. I would start by color correcting the image. If that doesn't totally do it then implement some local adjustments to restore the bucks original brown color.

There is a very prevalent cyan cast to the image, easily fixed by playing around with the white balance or color balance. Otherwise this is a very nice image, nice comp, good DOF and it appears to be nice and sharp! Fixed the cyan cast and you'll have a keeper!

Great looking buck you've got here! Nice composition and it's sharp enough to my eye, get rid of the blueish cast and, like Ben said, you've got a keeper!

Hey Jack, Here's something you can try, to remove the blue cast if you have photoshop. Click on > enhance,> on dropdown menue go to > adjust color > remove color cast >, and follow the simple instructions. It may or may not work in this case but worth a try.
Nice buck!

The colorful fall background is wonderful and very interesting. Nice symmetrical rack, handsome buck. It must have been getting quite dark to have to go to iso 1600, I guess that's where the slightly cyanotic fur is created. Just needs a little tweaking in the color department as already mentioned.

Thanks for the help everyone. I have been told that I am slightly color blind where blue and gray are concerned. This is not the first time that a deer photo taken very late in the day has been processed by me to creat this problem. Again, thanks!

Hi Jack, definitely a cyan cast or very cold color temperature, especially in the shadow areas. Easily fixed, preferably when doing the RAW conversion, but also possible in PS via color balance, selective color or curves/levels in the different channels. Maybe even an 'auto' curves will sort this out.or at least bring it close to where it needs to be. Otherwise this is a solid image with a lovely BG. On the one hand I like th frontal facial view as it gives a nice view of the antlers, but it also make the face look two-dimensional.

Blue cast already mentioned. Nice pose on a great buck. Love the fall colors behind him.

As mentioned, there's a little too much of a bluish cast... I always try to keep my camera's white balance set on cloudy to save me the headache. If it comes out too yellow, I cool it down in Photoshop RAW.
All you gotta do here is warm it up and maybe add a touch of contrast.
Otherwise, I think it's a great shot! :toast: :jump:

Love the comp and the eye contact. I agree that once you get rid of the blue, this will be a great image!

Hi Jack

Sorry to break it to you, but now the buck is purple. If you haven't found a fix by tomorrow, I will email you with a possible quick fix. You need to fix this, as it is a great photo.
