This little guy was at the edge of my woods during spring migration. I sat still and he approached me. Used Canon 10D handheld 100-400 IS lens. 1/350 at 5.6

The warbler looks sharp and you got a nice catch light in that mottled light Janet but personally I don't find the setting to be particularly appealing.

Janet,

I love the colors you captured in the palm warbler's plumage and your choice of composition.

If this were mine I would work on the zig-zags evident on the primaries, secondaries and tail that the high contrast straight lines can cause when resized and sharpened. The foreground is pleasing, but the brightness of the background does compete with the bird for my attention.

Love the catchlight you caught and that chestnut colored top of the head.

Nice sharp photo. Would it have been possible to shoot from a lower angle? A lower angle might have given you a less distracting background.

Hi Janet. If you could have gotten a lower angle on this little gem, it sure would have helped it stand out against the bg.

I go along with Ron and Lia's comments on this one Janet. The setting makes it a bit tough to concentrate on the bird.

Very sweet, Janet. I love the camo effect here, it's very appealing for me. The eye detail and yellow/beige theme works well for me, too! I love it, as is! :toast:

The bird looks nice and sharp here Janet, if you had been able to get lower perhaps even laying on the ground, you may have been able to get a nice oof background to accentuate this beauty. :toast:
