Bet ya can't guess where this was taken!
Ok, last one, i promise! This was probably my favorite angle of the Left Fork, shot a couple weeks back. Such a great location, will have to make it a tradition.

The downside of this comp is it doesn't include that spectacular red rock wall in the bg. But I like this for its originality and the leaves make a really nice fg. The exposure for the falls and the color of the bedrock are gorgeous!

This is a really pretty take on a classic spot. It is a very strong comp. with good color.

It is a pretty take on this area with the combination of blue, yellow, green and red. There is alot of depth in this view.

Really neat falls, and very nice comp. I like how the red rocks under the stream accent the fall foliage too. My only nit is that the water seems a bit on the "blue" side.

What a pretty looking stream Stan, love this kind of a scene, the small cascades, the fallen leaves, and that large fallen tree in the BG,. it all comes together very well. Beautiful work.

There's a lot going here, but I like it. I believe that you have compositions
within this composition which you have probably already deduced your-
self. I can visualize a crop down to the stream and cascades. Another
consideration would be a vertical or square compositon. Nevertheless,
this is a lovely scenic as it is.

I love the colors and the water - but the BG doens't do much for me. I'm thinking a week or so before this there would have been enough foilage to make a more pleasing backdrop

Very very beautiful Stan! Just great how the right and left part work with each other in terms of color contrast. The overall composition is also very strong, pretty complex, but very well pulled together.

Beautiful place, Stan. Where is that? I like your approach here and the blueish tones make the scene very pretty. Nice photo.

Definitely captures the character of the place, in a unique comp, which I appreciate. I do find it a little messy though But... I guess fall is a little messy sometimes!

Stan, I think the BG is a bit busy, but I love the mixture of the falls, the leaves, the color of the redrock. I can see why you would want to make it a tradition. Nice work.

Whoa, blue! I think I'd reduce the blue cast some in the shadows and on the water, but that's it. Nice one, Stan!

There's a lot of blue in the water, and the tree trunks. But maybe that was what you wanted. Great comp!

Unique perspective (if that's possible here) and very nicely handled light. Recognizable for sure, but different enough to make me take notice.

Stan ... give the savvy NPN viewers some credit. The fallen tree in the background totally gives the location away.
I like this "reverse angle" vantage point. I think I'd like to see more along the bottom in the foreground though.

Tons going on here Stan, but this holds up quite well. I love the colors throughout, but if it were mine I would pull back on the blue and/or cyan in logs and rocks up top. I like the blue in the water on top of the little plateau as I would expect the sky's reflection. Other than that, this looks great.

Thanks folks!
Yeah, Lon, the sky was quite blue and cloud free, so there was quite a bit of blue reflection--i had to significantly warm this up from what Auto WB would have given me (extremely blue!), but i see what folks are pointing out in the trees etc, so probably worth tweaking. Funny how only photographers seem to notice these things...

Wonderful take on the Black Canyon of the Gunnison .
I thought the blue was intentional, and kind of like it. Maybe take if out of the trees and leave it in the water? I wouldn't take it out too much regardless.

I like it! Its nice to see novel compositions of an oft photographed scene. Glad you took the time to work your subject. I think the blue aspects of the photo are too blue-maybe back off the blue saturation a tad. I would also bump up the yellow saturation a bit (but I'm a color junkie! ).

This is a great comp! I think photogs that wern't sure where this was could make a pretty good guess. But I don't think this would be a dead give away for a lot of people. I like the red white, and subtle blues.

Wonderful shot Stan, I like the placement of the water falls and the leaves. It looks like this could be a spot where you could take many different angles and views but you certainly found a good one, way to go.
