Shot at noon. Canon 40D, 400mm lens, 1/2000 sec,f8.0, ISO400.
Is the wing sharp enough? Does the vertical stick detract too much? Any other comment most welcome. Thanks.

Nice pose, Roger. I like the sense of energy.

Sharpness is good, The vertical stick doesn't bother me. You were lucky to get this close, and get such a decent photo in harsh light. I especially like the eye!

Sharpness of the wing looks fine Roger, since the head is sharp. The stick is a non-issue for me. Personally, I find it a bit tight on both the left and esp on the right side.

Roger, this works well for me! I'm a fan of tight crops, and this one is very nicely done. The eye sharpness is suberb. I love it! Great work!

The stick doesn't bother me although I'd like to see more separation between the bird and the nest. I like the open beak and the wing detail, but it does seem crowded into the frame. I like it; I just wish there was more room in front.

Good exposure and sharpness. In MHO it is a little too tight left and right. The stick does not bother me. For a noon shot this is exceptional.

Roger,
I don't mind the vertical stick at all, but the tightness of the image does,
Nice work on the exposure in the middle of the day.

Sharpness look great & you managed the mid-day light well Roger.
The stick's not a problem..Just needs more space as the others have said.
Still a cool shot, love that eye
