Peace renewed

I love to photograph the Pasque (which I'm sure everyone knows means peace in French) flower in the spring in Colorado. They are the first of the foothill wildflowers to bloom giving hope that winter will end soon. These seem to be breaking through the litter of winter to reaffirm hope.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Great composition Morris! I think you got the foreground leaf out of focus just right and the nice color of the flowers contrasting with the brown back drop works really well. The detail is stunning as well.

Morris,

The pasque flowers your photographed are gorgeous and I love how they are coming through the leaf litter.

A beautiful and very appealing image as posted.

Morris: I've never seen these little guys in person so this is a special treat. Excellent POF/DOF management. Outstanding. >=))>

Beautiful image of one of my favourite flowers. I love how soft you have kept the colours here and also like the context that the surrounding elements provide. The shape of the leaf and arching item in the background both provide lovely framing for the blossoms. Very lovely.

Unfortunately, you are incorrect as to the origins of the name 'pasque-flower'. It derives from the French passe-fleur which itself is derived from the Old French spelling of pasches or paskes for Pasch/Passover/Easter (mod. French Pâques). The association is due to the early blooming period for the anemone. Also, the French for peace is paix (f.).

Thank you everyone, and thanks Ian for clarifying the name. That's what I get for believing locals, and not researching it myself.
