Made this image today morning. Another morning where the temperature was just right for some dew. I was delighted to find this moth( no sure of its name though). At first I didn't notice the dew at all. When I lit the LED torch for a while to check the wings, I was in for a pleasant surprise - dews!
This time, it was 4 sources of lights:
1) Morning Sunlight ( back lit )
2) White light for some cooler rendition of back lighting on the spikes
3) An led light from below to bring out the details on the wings, especially the dews ( shadow region it was ).
4) Some amount of fill flash with -2 exposure compensation.
And finally, this moth cooperated so well to get me the image I wanted.
It was indeed a nice learning for me as to how different sources of light and angles at which they strike the subject matters so much at times!
Canon 40D, Canon 100 F2.8 macro + 25mm kenko extension tube, Gitzo 5540, Arca swiss z1 monoball head, 4 sources of light, F16, 1/20s, ISO 250, manual focussing, full frame image.
Thanks in advance for your kind views.
