The thumb certainly doesn't do this justice, Doug. I really like the layers of color and balance of light. This is really well done, IMO.

hey Doug,
Ahhh - Noyes Mountain and the Mentasta Range - that's the lake at Dead Dog Hill rest area. I think I was busy eating blueberries instead of photographing. :)
Lovely - the reds on the hillside look a little too magenta to my eye .. in the shaded part of the hillside. I love that burnished gold on the lakeside.
I skied right across the middle of this last week. :)
Cheers
Carl

Looks great in the larger version Doug! The colors look very natural to my eye.

Very well captured, Doug. The larger version really shines. I agree about the somewhat magenta look of the distant forest. Strange, as the peaks behind it look rather greenish.

Hi Doug, I love that colors and reflections, the larger view shows the real charming atmosphere of that place just a question, have you bring down a little bit the color temperature?
Great capture in a great place

Gorgeous color and reflection Doug. I like how you have choosen the grass to frame the bottom of the image. Many layers to enjoy especially in the larger version. Beautiful work.

Carl and Andreas are right. Upon closer inspection of the hi-res, my color manipulation has resulted in a magenta cast to the entire image. Here I've tried to correct that, and slightly cooled the image

Beautiful colors and reflection. I looked at the original and the repost and I would not mind the re-post warmed up a bit. The original has a little more pop, despite the very slight color cast. Either way, it is a really fine image.

The repost is much better for color. Alaska has such magical light and color in the fall. My only nit would be I wish I could have seen the full reflection.

Thanks for all the input, here's the repost with a little more 'pop' using Tony's Midtone Luminosity Mask.

This is fine. The last repost is my fav. It has the right amount of 'pop' to the eye. Terrific capture and presentation.
