Frosted Leaves

Seattle nights are finally frosty. I love when the fog freezes adding layers of delicate frost... not fun on roadways. I arranged a couple collected leaf piles. Then eagerly awoke to discover the beauty from frost...even added spray mist in the middle of the night to ensure ice crystals would abound. This was not one of those piles. This was not arranged...no spray. All natural. Save for the post processing.

Gorgeous earth tones and the white frost is a stand out Ken. Lovely comp, and a perfect late fall/early winter image.

What can I say... perfection! I love the colour, detail and comp. Great depth to the shot as well, I feel like I could reach right in and touch the leaves! Love it!

Great capture Ken. I'll have a good excuse not to rake leaves next year. Its too late for this year's crop. :toast:

Ken, I like the rich colors and abstract qaulity to this capture. I like the one eye looking back at me. I generally would clone that out, but here, I think it adds to the abstract quality. I like the way the two main subjects are going in opposite directions and offset from one another, and the supporting subjects complement the two main subjects direction wise to fill the frame. :toast:

Super sweet shot Ken. Detail, DOF, color, lighting, comp all spot on. Amazing how we try so hard, and then nature makes it look easy.
