I wouldn't normally indulge in this type of photography.

I was at the edge of a woodland in Skeleftea, Sweden at the end of a very cold day. When I took this picture the temperature was touching -30° and the colours are pretty accurate.

I like the coldness of the colours the mystery of the woodland

Canon 50D, Canon 300mm f2.8 lens, f8, 2sec ISO 800.

Honestly, I have to say that I am not certain how to react to this. I think this would be a nice background for something ... anything ... which was in focus in the foreground which would be the key element.

Ron,

I too am having a mixed response to this. Without any information or context I would probably conclude that this was an accidental trip of the shutter; out of focus, tilted, etc. etc. But one could also stop for a second and imagine a bit more purpose and meaning; of course knowing you captured this intentionally. The certainly does depict the coldness and mystery of the forest - I would even go so far as to say I get the impression of "The Blair Witch Project" tension and mystery.
Interesting for sure.

Ooops, focus seems to be a bit off. I'm not sure that this one works for me, but I can be a bit simplistic in my tastes.

Ron,

Don't mean to be to flip here, but if you change the title to "The Blur Witch Project" this may find resonance with some viewers as it's indicative of the style of photography in that film.

As part of a series, this might be an interesting way to present color.

Ron..the colors convey the sense of cold, but why oof? I don't think that adds to the sense of cold...I too thought this was an accidental shutter fire...
