Hello All! :wavey:

Just a common Black-capped Chickadee; captured with a nice shadowed background. I took this a while back and I didn't really think much of this image at the time, but in taking a second look, I thought I might post this one.

Canon 40D, EF500mm f/4L IS+1.4x, ISO 400, 1/250, f/9 (Av), 580EX (-2/3), Custom (gray card) white Balance.

Cheers

Nice details and I like how well the eye stands out in the mask. The dark background sets off the bird and perch quite nicely.

Derrick, I think this would make a great card design. Would suggest using curves layers to make the bird's head pop out from the background just a little.

Very nice image Derrick. The dark BG creates an artistic looking image. Personally I do find the use of flash a bit too evident though I suppose that could be changed (to personal liking) in Photoshop quite well.

The dark background really makes this chickadee stand out well.

The bird is set off well against the dark background and your exposure looks good Derrick. I'd prefer a bit more room at the top with the chickadee looking up like it is.

I like the black background with the black and white shades on the Chicadee. Good job getting the black head to stand out. Well done, glad you posted it!
