Just a Chickadee

I stopped by one of my favorite spots today after a frustrating morning trying to track down waterfowl..which must have gone into isolation? This turned out to be my favorite image of the day and the best image I have in my files for this species. This is about 75% of full frame w/ only a slight levels adjustment in PS. All C&C welcome.

An excellent Chickadee, Kirk. The detail looks great in this size image. Beautiful exposure and head turn and a wonderful perch and bg. All around excellent. :toast:

That's a lovely pose and the white and black areas on the head are excellent. I like the large catchlight, really adds some life to the bird.

Kirk, sometimes "just a (insert bird here)" shot can be quite good, as is the case here. The bg really makes this one pop, and the head turn and detail are great.

Beautiful image, Kirk. On my monitor, I see a bit of a halo around the bird's head.

Super nice Kirk. Lover the bird's pose with the nice head turn. A great perch branch and BG complete this image nicely. The colors in the BG are just steller. I wish you would have posted a larger version.

beautiful. nice pose, perch, and bg. the eye stands out nicely.

I notice that some of the most common birds are the ones that are conspicuously (and unfortunately) lacking in my files.

There is every thing to love about this image, and I do. I can see why it would be your favorite image of the day, very well done!

Wonderful image. I love the shapes in the perch, the pose and of course that perfect background.

A wonderful shot all round Kirk. Nice pose, the perch is simple but has character, the background is clean but not sterile and with nice color and the bird is sharp except for the tail. I'd be delighted with this.
