Theme - Spring Colors

Hi all.

First an explanation. I have been working a lot lately, helping my wife some with her business (she is an attorney), getting ready for the holidays, and just not feeling inspired. I have tried to find inspiration here in the gallery, but even that seems hard to come by.

As Bill mentioned to me in an email, a slump is OK - especially when this is not my livelihood. So I have just been doing my best to find other outlets - and waiting patiently until I feel like shooting again.

I thought that I would post a shot or two for the Theme. This is one that sticks out in my mind as one of my favorites. I am seeing some great stuff posted. Great job everyone.

Nathan

Nathan, Welcome back  - have been wondering where you have been. Your shot reminds me of one of my own. I like the yellows on a beautiful shade of purple and the curve moving right up the frame.

Very nice work

Very nice combination of colours; interesting composition. I can see a purple line between the flower and the BG on the right side.

It's enough to make you appreciate the Greek belief in a muse isn't it. I hope yours returns soon Nathan. I've missed your images. For me it's not a matter of finding other outlets. Coding and design are very visual for me and the more I code at work the less inclination I have to shoot. Programming, Math and photography are all coming from pretty much the same place in my head.

The complementary colors in this are beautiful and I like the abstract quality very much. It's a good looking image.

Hope to see more images soon.

Pat

Nathan: Looks like a nice way to start a comeback. I remember Ram's shot that he mentioned and this one does indeed remind me of it and that's a very good thing. Marvelous comp and DOF/POF management. Terrific image. >=))>

Glad to have you back Nathan. Miss your images, especially the crams. You have set a high bar for yourself and I'm sure it is sometimes hard to meet or beat your own standard. Try taking a nice trip to a warm climate where there are plenty of flowers, birds and sunny days.

This is a strong image that would print beautifully. :toast:

Superbly crafted image Nathan. I wonder if you really realize how much you have inspired all of us. I can certainly understand a slump in desire ( for shooting), But I can tell you I hope you're slump goes away quickly. :wavey: :toast: :toast:

Striking in its graphic simplicity. Another of your masterpieces.

Don't worry, Nathan. Sometimes with a hiatus comes new perspective. I hope you find it so. Just think of this period as a rest from which to return rejuvenated and with new insight and/or creative spirit.

I loved the colors on this one Nathan, especially how the purples and yellows meld. Slumps come and go, if you didn't have a slump, you'd never be on a roll. Happy Holidays. :wavey:

Hey Nathan. Good to hear from you and see you posting. You have been missed; will look forward to your return. Never a bad idea though to take a break, pursue other interests, etc. Fantastic image. Great comp, color, and DOF. I find the border between the flower and the purple BG very striking.
