I like the look in the eye as well as those nasty looking talons. Angle is a bit steep though

I don't mind the up angle on this one. I like the look he is giving and those ruffled chest feathers. I agree with Luke about the talons.

Nice eye contact and light, but I agree that the angle is a bit steep.

The angle issue has been noted but you got some very nice detail on the Hawk

super detail on this one, Doug. For me the intent downward gaze makes the steep angle work much better than it otherwise would. :toast:

Very nice image quality.

I have no issue with the angle of view: it works well with the the downward gaze and helps tell a story that makes this stand out from every other hawk-on-a-stick shot. There is no reason to make every image look like every other image.

Great detail on this RT Doug. I love the sky and no halo either. The wind-blown feathers add as does the downward head angle. I agree the steep angle on this shot is a non-issue.

Doug, the hawk looks good. Nice and sharp, end to end and I too like the combination of blue sky with no halo. I agree that the eye contact from the hawk helps to mitigate the steep angle but I would still prefer more of an eye level view.

Doug,

Because of the downward look the hawk is giving I don't mind the steep angle. It gives us a view of the underside of the tail feathers we might not have seen from an angle that is less steep. Agree with Rich that there is no reason to make every image look like every other image.

Love the light & details.
