Last of Asiatics

This is the last of the Asiatics for the 09 summer season. I have no shortage of lilies in my garden and they are gorgeous so next year rather than picking the bloom, bringing it to my deck, black background, using my reflector to bounce light back onto the lily I am going to try something different. Don't know yet, am open to suggestions. When I try to take them in the garden they are so large it is difficult to isolate the blooms. Last year was a difficult year for me due to the death of my husband so I am looking forward to putting 2009 behind me.

Nikon D300, 200 macro, tripod, shutter release, f14, 1/200

Seasons Greetings and a great Floral 2010 to everyone.
May

Tastefully done like all the Lilies in this series. Beautiful handling of the whites. Colors rule supreme here

Thanks for the wishes and you have a great 2010 too :wavey:

This is spetacular IMHO May. Your lighting is perfect, details terrific and the composition compliments this lily wonderfully. I have never seen colors like these on lilies, is spring here yet? :toast: :toast: :toast: :toast:

May, you're Rule of Thirds comp is perfect, as is the attention to detail as it's sharp throughout. Super color, fine image and quite excellent presentation. Print it big, but with one caveat, better be sure you have plenty of black ink.

May,

This is gorgeous. I think each of these is better than the last and I've liked the series. Your composition and lighting in this superb IMO.

I'm sorry to hear of your husband's death. I hope 2010 holds nothing but good things for you.

May this is beautiful. Great focus edge to edge top to bottom. Beautiful colors. Please share one of your native Tiger Lilies found all over SK. I found them in abundance along the Quapell River Valley.

Just brilliant, May! Impressive control of the lighting. I'll be eager to see how you handle the flowers next year if you shoot them in the garden, as I have the same difficulty you mention.

I sure hope your New Year brings better times for you.
