Little Blue Heron

This was taken early morning in late summer in backlight. I lightened the heron in processing which introduced some noise in the bird. I ran noise reduction but this is new to me. How did I do? Your input will help me next time. Canon 30D, 400mm., f5.6, !/800, ISO 400, ev + 1.

Great shot. I like the backlight and reflection. The arch of the branch frames the bird nicely. The entire image has a goof artistic feel.

Scott,

I like the graceful curve of the branch behind the heron and the reflections on the water behind the bird.

I would like to see more details in the heron's plumage, but under the conditions described I may have gone for more of a silhouette.

The eliptical shape of the branch and its reflection almost remind me of an eye
