We didn't have much going on this Christmas, so we hooked up to the trailer and headed up north, to Padilla Bay, which is up by Anacortes, WA. There were soooo many raptors, but I was not successful in getting any good images of any of them. I did however, come upon this very cold GBH, in early moring light.

Olympus e3
Olympus ZD300 f2.8 w/2x
ISO 100
f5.7
1/400th
-.7ev

Normal routine in PS. Comments and critiques welcome. Thanks.

Very nice light; good three dimensional image from the angle of the light.

I really like this pose and the setting Mike. I would perhaps selectively sharpen the area around the eyea touch more to give his face a bit more punch :toast:

I like this shot a lot, Michael. The morning light is really nice and I like the frosty vegetation. I agree that a little more sharpening on the head is a good idea, as the rest of the bird looks really good. Very nice shot.

I love that light and the classic pose with the wonderful beard. The frosty vegetation makes a nice counterpoint to that gorgeous warm light.

Great light angle here Mike. I believe the bird could be a bit sharper, but overall a very pleasing image to view.

Great Shot Mike. What really grabs my attention is the composition.

Mike,

I love the soft light, the great hunched down pose and the included habitat.

Beautiful pose and light, Mike. BTW, some friends told us at dinner yesterday that they recently visited Nisqually and saw 16 Bald eagles from the end of the two barns trail. :toast:
