Red-tailed Hawk

Haven't been out in the new decade yet. This Red-tailed Hawk was seen in a dry river bed in Valencia, CA on 12/26. I almost literally stumbled on this bird as he fed on a rabbit. I certainly didn't mean to interrupt him in his feast. You can see from his huge crop that he had a good meal.

Thanks in advance for your comments and suggestions.

Wow Hans, that crop is full!

I haven't been out photographing in the new year yet either, hoping the clouds lift so I can!

Love the spread wings and full crop. Nice details too. I haven't been out in the new year yet either but we still have 362 days left.
