Country Snow Globe

A cabin of a friend of mine's cabin/camp is surrounded by pines and ponds in NEPA. I'm doing a series of seasonal shots for her and began with winter the other day after a nice snowfall. The light wasn't perfect for sure, but I liked the way the snow-laden trees were caught in the mirror of the unfrozen part of a pond. Shot at ISO-100, 1/400th, f4.0. One of many... any C&C/suggestions welcomed. Thanks!

The snow frosted trees and the reflections in the pond make for a perfect post card. What was the purpose of shooting at f/4, to soften the bkgd? I would of shot it at f/16 or so, what a baffoon I am.

Hi Greg, thanks--I think! I'm still in the experimental stage when it comes to combining stops, speeds, ISOs, etc. so I shot it at many combos to try and notice the differences. It is a bit soft, but I don't always think that's a bad thing--so call me the buffoon, not you!

Think this worked great here, like the effect. Will make me don the snow shoes and experiment. Greg
