Crane Flight Yin/Yang

I am normally much more of a landscape photographer but have also been doing some bird photography for the last couple of years particularly when I head to Bosque del Apache. This image of Sandhill Cranes in flight I made last year in January and as some of you may or may not know was awarded an Editors Choice Honorable Mention in the Audubon Birds in Focus Photo Contest. Anyway I though it would be good to post it here in the Avian Gallery.

Nikon D700

Really a cool shot. I like how it shows the opposite extremes of wing position of the crane in flight.

Stephen,

I love the shadow of the top bird on the lower bird. The light, colors, details and background are all lovely. Big congrats on the award!

I like it too Steve. Normally I'd prefer to see the heads of both birds but the head shadow on the wing more than makes up for it and is pretty neat too.

Steve: I'm not a bird guy but this is excellent. The shadow on the lower bird is the icing on a very fine cake. 2 thumbs up! >=))>
