Spring Big Horn

This big horn was at the Roosevelt area of Yellowstone. He was very patient about all of us taking pictures. It was very bright that day, so I have toned the picture down a little and relieved the shadows a little.

50D
1/500
F8
ISO 320
FL 400

Thanks for looking at my picture and for any comment.

This looks like a big old ram, with lots of fighting experience as evidenced by the brooming. I like the way the light hits the brow, eye and horns. Nice head turn and "expression". :toast:

He's an old guy, eh? I agree with Dan that the head turn, and expression are what make this image. I'd love to see it from a lower angle, I feel like you were above it, but of course I don't know the shooting conditions. Thanks for sharing!

He does look like a rusty crusty old ram! I always find the light and shadows challenging on these guys.

Somehow I am aware of processing, but cannot pinpoint exactly what it is... I think the bright highlights in the grass add a busy element. All in all I think you were working in tough, contrasty conditions.
