Chickadee in Winter

This is a chickadee I photographed in a local park. In this case I was looking for the bright blue sky as a background (typically I avoid it). I like the chickadee's pose, and the feather detail, but am not sure about comp, and BG. Is the sky just too bright? Are the oof branches too distracting? They would be easy to clone, but I try to avoid cloning as much as possible. Thanks in advance for the feedback!

P.S.- Sarah, sorry I just saw your chickadee photo. Wasn't trying to copy or compete!

I like how the twigs help frame this little beauty. The sky is a beautiful brilliant blue and if this is how you saw it, I wouldn't change a thing. Sharon

Nicely exposed Cam . I'd try for a less busy BG next time by composing the shot from a different angle ,but sometimes you get what you get with those fast little guys !

I don't mind the background Cam, it feels like it adds depth to the image to me. I like the pose, the light in the bird's eye and how well you handled the exposure.

Love it. The sky is beautiful and the bird is nice and clear.

The chickadee contrasts enough that the oof branches don't bother me much, Cam. I happen to like blue skies (we don't get them very often out here). I would like a bit more dof. The in focus part of the Chickadee is very crisp, but I'd really like that hind foot to be in focus as well. :toast:
