During our trip in Costa Rica we were so lucky to be able to make photos of the Red-eyed treefrog. They are really born to be a model. (maybe Costa Rica's next top model!)
I wished for a little more DOF here but there was not much light and it is absolutely forbidden to flash to protect those beautiful eyes and that's what it is all about. I am glad at least the eyes are both in focus!

Great frog! the light areas behind him or her are a bit distracting - maybe you can dampen them a little ?
The eyes are wonderful - maybe a tighter crop would work also.

Very nice. The reflection on the leaf is a bit too bright, but only a minor issue.

This is great, Ellen. I think your DOF is just fine. The highlights on the leaf have already been pointed out. Very nice pose and detail in the treefrog. :toast:

Wow! those eyes! Good job keeping them in focus. The detail and color in this image is really good. The bright spots on the leaf don't bother me too much, but I wouldn't mind seeing it brought down a little. :toast: :toast:

Gorgeous subject with mesmerizing eyes. The DOF is fine and slight toning down of the highlight would improve the image. :toast:

Ellen,Happy new year and keep them coming.Nice comp. The flare on the left upper side of the image is a little bit distracting but the red eyes just draw yours to them. :wavey:

That is one stylin' frog, Ellen! The shot is impressive given the conditions you describe. I'd like to see a little less glare on the leaf, but I guess it does serve to contrast with the frog and help it to pop out of its bg. Don't guess you would've wanted to darken your scene any further with a polarizer either... Anyway, it is a great shot and I can appreciate that it was an exciting find.

Terrific image. The frog looks as if he is figureing the distance to jump on your camera. :toast:
