Qute Swan

Not my best-but it's a Q, so give me a break.

Black-necked Swan, native to Patagonia, unexplainedly living in a small pond next to a 16 lane freeway in Sugar Land TX, Southwest of Houston. There was a pair, but now only one. Don't know the story behind the loss of the other one-but there are a lot of feathers around the lake.

A large bird, I wasn't prepared for the DOF needed when it turned to an angle. Also, some noise. Oh, and loss of blacks. But, it's a Q.

D80. 70-300mm @220mm no VF on old lens. 1/250 f 5.6 -0.7EV.

Angela,

Don't think you need a break, were our own worst self critics, sometimes this is a nice shot and you obviously know your birds.
