Blueberry Flower

Inspired by Alex's blueberry berries, here's a blueberry flower (Vaccinium myrtillus).

I went to the forest, thinking it's perfectly easy to photograph some blueberries - I mean, they're everywhere! Then I realised that's precisely the problem - they're *everywhere*! Eventually, I found one that was living on the edge, and got this.

Around here, blueberries are the cause of great interest every summer and autumn: Did their flowers freeze? Did they get enough water? Did they get too much water? Did the neighbour get there first and pick them all? Do I have a squashed berry in my shoe again? And yet, I doubt anyone really stops and really looks at the plant. I find the modest little flower very beautiful.

Thank you for looking.

Sigma 105 mm macro

No flash, probably tripod

Katja: You have done a good job of capturing this rather small flower. Nice lighting and BG. I would perhaps try for a tighter crop.

Even the flowers look delicious. Nice job finding something a little out of the ordinary, Katja.

This is pretty and I would love to see variations with different dof on it as well using selective focus on the flowers

Well composed closeup Katja, I like it.
Good exposure & details. I think it needs a slight color adjust.
It has a green cast that should not be there IMHO.
Well done :toast:
