Great idea, and great execution. Only thing that bugs me, and its out of your control, is how only one star is so bright and becomes a compositional element, and makes the left side unbalanced and heavy compared to the right.

Nice work Scott. I agree with Paul's comment, and think the issue can be resolved somewhat with a bit of a crop off of the right. Most of the interest seems to be in the left portion of the image. Impressive handling of the exposure here!

Scott,

Excellent moonline seascape - not very often we've seen one of these. I especially enjoy the detail available in the big rock rather than have it go completely black. I would agree with the other comments and crop this about 20% or so from the right for a nicely balanced image - and that's primarily to account for that solitary star trail. I also like that water did not get blown out and the resulting contrast works beautifully in this scene. I really like this. Excellent job.

I like your attention to detail in the alignment of the sea stacks and the exposure is perfect. Maybe a slight crop, but this is really cool. :toast:

I really like the left half of the image, but the right half seems a little empty. It's neat the way the water mimics the streaking planet brightness-wise.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I used a 4x5 crop for the updated version to remove some of the dead space on the right. Looks much better to me.

Looking good, and that repost made the composition stronger.

I like the comp a lot--especially the repost. Nice mood too. Not really sold on the star trails (at first i thought Jupiter was an airplane) but they dont hurt the shot any either.
